Crans Montana ski hotels and holiday packages
So tell me about it...
Originally two villages, the natural advantages and resulting popularity of Crans and Montana led to the two villages joining under one name in the 1960s. Those advantages begin with the resort's wonderful location, on a sunny terrace of lakes and woodland with views across the Rhone Valley and out towards the mountain peaks of the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc.
Crans Montana's skiing is divided into three areas that are all lift linked together by five gondolas accessed from different points in the resort. The largest area is the Cry d'Err ski area and the second largest is the Violetted area where you can find some of the toughest runs in the resort. The third largest area is the Aminona ski area which is located above the Aminona resort centre.
In Crans-Montana, you can ski at altitudes ranging from 1500 right up to the glacier at 3000m. The ski area includes 28 ski lifts – amongst them, the brand new "Nationale Express" chairlift. The area extends over 140 km of marked pistes, a third of which can be covered with artificial snow, so a great ski season is guaranteed in this region which is among the sunniest in Valais.

Intermediates
Intermediate skiers in Crans Montana will be spoilt for choice with 28 red runs in all areas of the resort and at all levels of the 1,500 metre vertical. The long descent from the Plain-Morte glacier is particularly good.
Experts
The expert skiers head to the steep runs around La Toula or try the off-piste capers around Chesterton and La Tza.
Snowboarders
A popular choice for snowboarders who have a halfpipe at Pas du Loup and one park at La Tsa. All the pistes, which include runs of up to 12km (7.5 miles), are open to 'boarders , and most of the terrain is served by high capacity gondolas so no messing about on surface lifts - even better for 'boarders.
The Fleur des Champs crèche and kindergarten takes infants from three months, making for a friendly family ski holiday resort.
